Azur Restaurant overlooking the ocean hosts nightly dinners with live entertainment for the guests, or it can be used for wedding receptions too. Unlike many other all-inclusives you don’t need to make reservations for any of the restaurants ahead of time.

This huge space on the side of the hotel is where they can host receptions for up to 300 people. Probably not feasible for most destination weddings but it’s nice to have the option.

Polly want a margarita? These dudes hang out near the pool and there’s a staff member nearby to perch them on your arm (if you don’t share my aversion to birds).

Lizard! They’re all over the place in Cancun but they won’t bother you if you don’t bother them.

The Hidden Garden restaurant serves tapas and with its trees lit up we imagine it would be incredibly romantic.

To my husband’s great disappointment, these Rolls-Royces in front of the hotel are just for show, they won’t drive you around in them.

Fast Facts:

  • Live Aqua only books one wedding per day. Cruz recommends booking a year in advance if possible, especially for November (their busy month) or if you want a Friday or Saturday wedding.
  • You can order a honeymooners package which includes strawberries with chocolate and champagne on arrival, a couples massage and a romantic dinner for two. They’ll even fire up the Jacuzzi in your room so it’s ready after dinner.
  • If you book a suite you also get access to the 5th floor lounge and a cabana by the pool. Plus you get a mini massage at your cabana each day, not a bad deal.
  • The whole hotel was designed with Feng Shui in mind, in case you’re into that.
  • To book, visit the Live Aqua website.
