Scouting Cancun: Live Aqua Hotel and Resort

Live Aqua’s beach and pool area.

The No. 1 complaint about all-inclusives? Mediocre food. We hear it all the time. But, that doesn’t mean every all-inclusive will give you bland, so-so cuisine. We visited Live Aqua Hotel, an adults-only all-inclusive in Cancun, and had the chance to sample a few bites from their restaurants: shrimp ceviche, caprese salad and more. We can honestly say not a bit of it was bland or remotely mediocre.

But that isn’t the only highlight of Live Aqua. It also boasts an amazing spa, you really can’t stay there without checking it out, and a gorgeous stretch of beach. Check out our photos from our visit below to see if you should consider having your destination wedding or honeymoon at this Cancun resort. Guests are greeted in the lobby with iced tea and a hand massage. This is part of the hotel’s goal to engage all five senses upon arrival. You see the ocean, you hear the music in the lobby, you smell the aromatherapy, you taste the tea and you feel the hand massage. Speaking of aromatherapy, each floor of the hotel has a different scent. The lobby is eucalyptus and another floor smells like chocolate, yum.

Giant bed, giant bathtub, decorative blue rice – this suite has it all! (Side note: Lis Cruz, the wedding planner at the resort, said those rice designs are done by hand, no stencils which is quite impressive.)

If you book a suite you get a cozy living room area as well.

A pool overlooking the beach means you don’t have to decide between the two. Cruz says they’ve even done weddings IN the pool – bride, groom, minister, the whole deal.
